Tupo Vyaz

Tupo Vyaz is a closed modular grotesque with a maximally simplified design featuring elements of Russian northern cursive. The font was created specifically for headline setting on the website of the 'Modern Cyrillic 2019' competition. This version of the font is variable in weight, with a fixed width of character spaces that does not change with weight adjustments. This is very convenient for dynamically changing the weight of headlines or menu items on the web. The 'angular' design of the characters and characteristic diagonals allow for virtually unlimited height adjustments of the letters. This was implemented in the font prototype and is planned to be added to the released version. The font designer is Aleksandra Korolkova. The font was released by Paratype in 2020.
