About the font
Stadio Now is a revival of the original design by Aldo Novarese for the dry printing brand R41, published in 1974. The original font is a very bold sans-serif grotesque characterized by its reverse contrast, with horizontal lines thicker than vertical ones. This style, historically called 'Italian', creates a dramatic effect where the letters appear slightly odd. In his endless quest for interesting letter forms, Novarese was intrigued by this style and created several successful and interesting variations of the idea, from the calligraphic font Estro to the sci-fi Sintex.
