About the font
Playfair is a transitional design. In the era of the European Enlightenment in the late 18th century, quills were replaced by pointed steel pens as the popular writing tool of the time. With the advancement of printing technologies, inks, and paper production, it became possible to print forms with high contrast and fine lines.
