About the font
Papamarkou is a font inspired by the architecture of Papamarkou Street in the center of Thessaloniki, Greece. All the pedestrian street buildings were designed by French architect Ernest Hebrard in 1917, aiming to create a small business district. This is why each building consists of two small premises. The first-floor space served as a retail outlet, while the second was intended for a workshop or a resting place. The Papamarkou font draws inspiration from the shape of the buildings, particularly the characteristic arched windows at the top.
