New Athena Unicode

New Athena Unicode is a free multilingual font distributed by the American Philological Association. It adheres to the Unicode standard (versions 6/7) and includes characters for English and Western European languages, polytonic Greek, Coptic, ancient Italian, and demotic Egyptian transliteration (and Arabic transliteration), as well as metric symbols and other characters used by classical scholars, some of which are required for medieval and Byzantine studies. New Athena Unicode is an intelligent font that includes OpenType ligatures to display pre-composed combined characters not recognized by Unicode but necessary for scholars.
