About the font
Cryptotypography—a passion for unknown, strange, and unusual forms of symbols—is a condition that often affects type designers. Cosimo Lorenzo Pancini reflected this in the font family aptly named Hagrid, after the half-giant with a passion for cryptozoology, as described by J.K. Rowling in her Harry Potter books. Extreme optical corrections, calligraphic counterspaces, inverted contrast, excessive bursts: all inventions abundant in folk and experimental typography have been lovingly gathered in this sans-serif family, carefully balancing whimsical solutions and solid grotesque design.
