About the font
Arsenica is a serif font designed by Francesco Canovaro for Zetafonts, developed by a team of designers including Mario De Libero, Andrea Tartarini, and Cosimo Lorenzo Pancini. The design of Arsenica draws inspiration from early 20th-century Italian poster design, where typography, lettering, and illustrations are closely intertwined. Nationalist movements of the dawn era pushed traditional old-style letters, often infused with a sense of modernity and deco, instead of using a modernist language. Artists like Giorgio Muggiani not only illustrated posters for Cinzano, Pirelli, and Rinascente but also provided logo designs for newspapers such as 'Il Popolo d'Italia'.
